I am a fully qualified and insured Person-Centred Counsellor. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy,(MBACP), a governing body that is an accredited member of the Professional Standards Authority. The core of my practice is to offer you a confidential, safe space where you feel supported, understood and respected without feeling judged. My aim is to support you while you explore whatever issues maybe causing you distress. As a Person-Centred Counsellor I believe that a person has the ability to decide what is right and best for them, and by exploring our thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences, and having a better understand of them, gives us the tools we need to make positive changes. I feel strongly about helping you strengthening your own ability to identify and implement solutions that are right for you so that you feel empowered and able to draw on your inner resources, no longer needing me. Training & Experience I have worked with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds with wide ranging issues, complex needs and mental health issues, I started my career in Nursing 25 years ago, and working in a variety of specialties with adults with both physical illness and mental health issues this led me to appreciate the benefit of good counselling and psychotherapy. I have been providing counselling for Leicester Women’s Counselling Centre since 2014. LWCC is a service that works to improve the lives of women and girls with very complex needs or who are victims of abuse and/or trauma. This environment has taught me a huge amount, and as such, feel I am able to offer my clients a unique approach that suits their individual needs.
