I am a fully qualified and insured counsellor who is registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work in accordance with the Ethical Framework set by the BACP, and receive regular clinical supervision. I am DBS and GDPR compliant. Over the past 4 years I have provided counselling for Leicester Women’s Counselling Centre, and First Step - who provide support for male rape and sexual abuse survivors. I have experience of working with complex trauma, and have a particular interest in anxiety management.
Training & Experience
I originally qualified as a Holistic Therapist in 1998 and spent many years helping my clients improve their general wellbeing. Over time I began to notice that although my clients found the physical treatments relaxing, it was the ‘talk time’ that was proving to be as equally beneficial to how they felt afterwards. Without realising it I had provided them with a safe, empathic, caring, non-judgemental space where they felt comfortable to explore the aspects of their life that were troubling them - in essence they were experiencing the core counselling conditions. Since initially qualifying as a person-centred counsellor, I would now describe my approach as integrative, and always holistically tailored to my clients needs.
